Prime Focus nominated for prestigious sound mixing award at GIMA 2011

Prime Focus, the global Visual Entertainment Services company, is delighted to announce that Ajay Kumar, Chief Sound Mixing Engineer, has been nominated for the Global Indian Music Academy Awards (GIMA) 2011 for his meticulous sound mixing work on Nikhil Advani's 'Patiala House'.

The GIMA awards honour and award talent across different musical genres, with the intention of giving the various music styles the same platform, importance and recognition. Alongside 'Patiala House', the other films nominated in this category are 'Udaan', 'Band Baaja Baaraat', 'Dabangg' and 'Housefull' (for which Prime Focus contributed VFX and DI). Voting for the awards begins from the 30th August 2011 and the award function will be held on 22nd September 2011.

Prime Focus has won numerous awards on the strength of its visual creativity at Advertising and VFX focused events such as the New York Film Festival, 24Fps Awards, IIFA and the Apsara Awards, and the company is now ready to make an impact in the audio sector too. Prime Focus recently added two top-end sound mix theatres in its one-stop-shop facility in Mumbai, which not only allow moviemakers to get the best of the final sound mixing, but also to see every shot on the big screen and judge them for final touch ups.

In the past, Prime Focus has worked on various prestigious and demanding projects like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Twilight Saga - Eclipse and New Moon, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, Murder 2, Guzaarish, Chronicles of Narnia - 3, TRON: Legacy, My Name is Khan, and Avatar among many others.
