India's No1. Bollywood destination, zoOm brings to you another freshly baked chapter from its steaming investigative oven on ‘Bollywood Big Story'. This week it's all about Stars and Politics and whether stars have a role in Rajneeti or is it another stepping stone to more power?

Stars have graced the Indian Parliament for a long time. From Sunil Dutt to Amitabh Bachchan to Govinda, it's been a journey which has been traversed by some with great success while others have burnt their fingers and retreated. Are stars really able to deliver after being chosen to represent the people? Govinda canvassed for votes by catering to the needs of the ‘aam aadmi'. Did it translate into reality or did it just remain another empty promise?

And then there is the eyeballs agenda…Political parties get item-girls and glam-dolls to campaign for the party to garner visibility of the aam junta. Does the popularity of celebrities really translate into hard votes for a party and a candidate thus ensuring an easy election result? Have we reached a stage where glam quotients determine votes, or can we bank on the concrete quality and ability of our politicians?

How relevant are stars like Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha, Hema, Jaya, Salman and Kats to politics? Are they 'Politically correct or incorrect'?

Sanjay Dutt, who entered politics with a bang says, "Yes stars are relevant in politics because it's the public who makes us stars, and it is the same public who chooses politicians and I want to thank people for loving me and choosing me on both counts"

Ram Gopal Verma claims, “The principals of politics are based on selflessness and working for the welfare of people. I couldn't care for anyone else's welfare apart from my own, so it would be a wrong career choice for me”.

Shahrukh Khan confidently says, “I don't support anyone, I think as individuals we should just depend on ourselves and our voices”

Deepika Padukone isn't too keen on getting into politics as she says, “My passion and interest have always been films, acting and modeling. That's what I enjoy doing”.

Will the star's glamour, camouflage politics or will politics be taken seriously? Tune into the Bollywood Big Story this week on the 13th of August 12.30 pm and catch the tale of Bollywood celebs in politics, only on zoOm.
