Only Much Louder, organizer of NH7, launched a mobile festival guide app called ‘Festivapp’.
Festivapp is currently available as a free download on the iTunes App Store and the Google Play Store and allows one to discover festivals/events in India and attend them. These festivals can either be cultural, literary, music or a film festival.
Speaking at #NAMA, Vijay Nair, CEO and Founder, Only Much Louder said, “Music should be given away for free, and bands and artists should earn through events and live shows, and that the revenue earned from music sales can be matched with a few concerts. He said that there was too much effort in trying to sell music." Shreyas Srinivasan, Co-Founder, OML also talked about YouTube emerging as the largest content discovery destination, which has levelled the field for new artists.”
According to preference, people can browse through festivals, including information like venue, genre, pricing and festival dates. The app includes a festival wall which offers a stream of updates being posted from that specific event. These updates include organizer announcements, updates from their friends, and event related updates syndicated from social networking sites like Twitter and Instagram. The wall also features a pull-to-refresh feature and has a countdown clock that counts down to the start of the festival in days, hours and minutes.
The launches at #alpha also include a path breaking initiative - RailRadar from the Indian Railways impacting lives of millions of train passengers across the country. This ambitious information project was presented by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) in partnership with Stelling Technologies.
