Roshni Nadar Malhotra is NDTV 'Indian of the year - India's Future' in Philanthropy

Shiv Nadar Foundation today announced that Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Executive Director & CEO, HCL Corporation & Trustee, Shiv Nadar Foundation has been conferred the prestigious ‘NDTV - Indian of the year- India’s future’ award in philanthropy.

Roshni received the award for her focus on philanthropy and her commitment towards education initiatives of the Shiv Nadar Foundation. She is the driving force behind the VidyaGyan schools in Uttar Pradesh (U.P), a radical initiative of the Shiv Nadar Foundation to induct and transform meritorious rural children from economically challenged backgrounds and create leaders of tomorrow. VidyaGyan provides children free, world class education to help transcend the disadvantages they face and compete with their urban counterparts. Under Roshni’s leadership, VidyaGyan has expanded its selection process to touch nearly 200,000 children in UP covering 75 districts of the state. Under her leadership and direction, VidyaGyan has become a model of socio-economic transformation for the families and communities it impacts and has earned global recognition.

As a Trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation, Roshni also drives the Shiv Nadar Foundation strategy and the long-term roadmap of the Foundation.

Shiv Nadar Foundation is a significant driver of social change and transformational education in India through its landmark institutions, from schools to universities. In the last 20 years, more than 13,000 students have been directly impacted by various Foundation initiatives in education. The Foundation has invested over Rs 1800 crore since inception on its various initiatives in transformational education and has committed Rs 3000 crore in the next five years towards educational initiatives and expansion programmes over the next five years.
