O&M, Grey win Leela Kempinski business

While O&M has won the creative part of the account, Grey has bagged the interactive part

Luxury hotel chain, The Leela Palaces & Resorts, has just awarded its advertising business. While O&M has won the creative part of the account, Grey Worldwide has bagged the interactive part.

The information of the account win comes from industry sources. The hotel chain is apparently in the process of making an official announcement of the same.

The size of the business could not be ascertained as the winners shied away from disclosing the details. What agencyfaqs! was given to understand that the Leela was one such account where agencies pitch for the 'prestige-factor' and the billings are secondary.

It was learnt that three agencies were in the running for the business. Besides O&M and Grey's Mumbai offices, Saatchi & Saatchi was also in the fray, sources in the know said.

The incumbent agency was Enterprise Nexus; the agency had serviced the hotel chain for 12 long years. There are only a few examples of such enduring partnerships at a time where client-agency relationships are increasingly turning fickle.

The hotel chain has been the winner of three PATA Gold Awards in 2002. The Leela Palace Kempinski, Bangalore, winning the best travel advertising award was one of these awards. The Leela Palaces & Resorts has properties in Mumbai, Bangalore and Goa.
