Euro RSCG, Bangalore, retains Dell computers

The size of the business is estimated to be Rs 5-8 crore

Following a multi-agency pitch held in May, Euro RSCG, Bangalore, has retained the creative and direct marketing duties for Dell, the computer systems company. Euro RSCG has been handling Dell for the last five years.

There were two other agencies in the fray, one of which was Mudra (South). The name of the other agency couldn’t be ascertained.

The media duties have gone to Euro RSCG’s media arm, MPG India. The size of the business is estimated to be in the region of Rs 5-8 crore.

Sanjoy Gupta, director, Euro RSCG, Bangalore, says, “We managed to retain the business on the basis of the past work that we have done for the client. We showed how our agency has added value to the brand in the past, and it is this consistency that helped us in India.”

In addition, Euro RSCG has also won the Dell business in countries such as China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand. In these countries, the respective branches of the Euro RSCG Group will handle the business.

In Australia and New Zealand, the creative duties will be handled by DDB Needham.

A spokesperson for Dell says, “At Dell, we regularly review our partner relationships. This is to ensure we get the best match, the local business requirements of which are in line with our commitment to deliver paramount value to our customers.”

For the record, Dell designs, builds and customises computer related products and services globally. It serves both business corporations as well as consumers in their homes, helping them to build their information technology and Internet structures. Dell has manufacturing facilities and sales offices in North America, Europe, Asia and South America.
