Kenneth Augustine to join Saatchi & Saatchi as creative head, Delhi

Augustine is moving from Mudra, where he was creative director

Kenneth Augustine, creative director, Mudra, has quit. He is moving to Saatchi & Saatchi, Delhi, as creative head.

He will fill the position vacated by Viral Pandya, who recently quit the agency.

Confirming this development, Alok Lal, EVP and Delhi head, Saatchi & Saatchi, says, “Augustine is full of ideas. He brings to the job a perfect amalgamation of understanding the creative process and transforming strategy into a creative idea.”

He adds, “In him, I see a perfect partner who will complement strategy with his creative inputs.”

Augustine will oversee all the brands under the agency’s aegis, including Hyundai (Santro and Getz), Bharat Petroleum and Mother Dairy. He will also look after all new business initiatives.

Augustine started his career as a copy trainee at FCB Ulka (then Ulka). Since then, he has worked with TBWA (then Anthem), Rediffusion and Capital Advertising. After a five-year stint at Capital, where he worked for clients such as Punwire, Spice Telecom, Avon Cycles, Apollo Tyres and Surya Bulbs and Tubes, he moved to Lowe (then Lintas) in 1998.

Augustine joined Lowe as an associate creative director, seeing this opportunity as his ‘big agency’ experience. He worked there for brands such as Maruti Suzuki Alto, Versa and Baleno, Dabur Hajmola, The Oberoi Group of Hotels, Atlas Cycles and Boomer Bubble Gum. In 2001, he moved to Lowe, Mumbai, where he worked on Bajaj, Shaw Wallace (Royal Challenge, DSP and Haywards Beer), J&J and Iqara Broadband.

In February 2004, he joined Mudra as a creative director. At Mudra, he handled brands such as Dabur Hajmola Candies, Electrolux, Samsung CDMA, Yamaha, Vatika Shampoo, Lancer and Hamdard.
