Everest’s Neeraja Sharma joins McCann-Erickson, Bangalore

Sharma, who is moving from Everest, Delhi, will join as the business director of McCann, Bangalore

Neeraja Sharma has quit her job at Everest, Delhi, after nine months to relocate to Bangalore and join McCann-Erickson as business director. At Everest, she was deputy general manager. This will be her second stint with McCann as she had worked in the agency’s Mumbai branch before she joined Everest.

Welcoming Sharma on board, Dileep Ashoka, vice-president and general manager, McCann-Erickson, Bangalore, says, “In the last one year, McCann, Bangalore, has added some significant clients to its list, with Britannia being the latest. Now we are looking at consolidating and strengthening our workforce across all levels and disciplines. Getting Sharma on board is the first step in this direction.”

Speaking about her new role, Sharma says, “I will be primarily responsible for the newly acquired Britannia business. The role cut out for me is to kick-start a great relationship and create good work for the client.”

She adds, “As a business director, apart from managing business, my role is also to explore growth opportunities.” Sharma will also handle the Microsoft account for McCann.

Sharma started her career in 1995 with Ogilvy & Mather. From O&M, she moved to Publicis, only to move again to the client’s side with L’Oreal and Mattel Toys. But she couldn’t stay away from the advertising world for long and moved to McCann in Mumbai. Nine months ago, she joined Everest Brand Solutions (then Everest), Delhi.

At Everest, Sharma handled clients such as Hitachi and HFCL. Summing up her experience at Everest, she says, “To start with, it gave me a good opportunity to learn about a different market as Delhi was new me. My primary focus was to look at organic growth and expansion plans.”
