Rajeev Rakshit quits Everest, Delhi; Anant Pal Singh replaces him

Rakshit was vice-president, Everest Brand Solutions, Delhi; Singh moves from the agency’s Mumbai branch

Rajeev Rakshit has put in his papers at Everest Brand Solutions, Delhi, where he was vice-president. He has cited personal reasons for this decision. Meanwhile, Anant Pal Singh has moved to Delhi from the Mumbai branch as general manager.

Mahesh Chauhan, CEO, Everest Brand Solutions, says while confirming the news, “It’s unfortunate to see Rajeev (Rakshit) leave, but since it’s purely on personal grounds, one cannot do anything.”

He adds, “Singh’s main task is to bring a similar appeal and character to the agency’s Delhi branch as there is in the Mumbai branch. This is a fairly challenging role, but in the past, Singh has proved his mettle with his phenomenal performance and we are sure he will do justice to the Delhi office.”

On his stint with Everest, Rakshit says, “It’s been the steepest learning curve of my life where I have transformed from being just an advertising professional to an entrepreneur and where I have understand the business of advertising in its totality.”

He adds, “There have been many exciting moments in the past two years since I joined, but I would peg the relaunch of the agency as Everest Brand Solutions as the biggest of them. Being part of the vision and taking it forward from mere building blocks and then to see the actual result has been a great high. At the Abbys, the Delhi office won two metals, which is proof enough that the Delhi branch is on the right track.”

Rakshit, who started his career with a brief spell at O&M, worked with Maa Bozell, McCann-Erickson, Bates, Euro RSCG and Publicis before moving to Everest. He has worked on brands such as HP, Nokia, Motorola, Nestle, Intel, Dell, Hitachi and JK Tyres.

As for Anant Pal Singh, the task chalked out for him is to match in Delhi the stellar performance of Everest Brand Solutions in Mumbai. He says, “We have begun the journey by winning awards at the Abbys. The creative team is in place with Kapil Dhawan and Arnab Chatterjee and we are all set for good work and on our way to organic growth, generating revenue and new acquisitions.”

When agencyfaqs! asked Rakshit on his future course of action, he replied, “Advertising is in my blood and I will definitely be back, but after a short sabbatical.”
