M&C Saatchi has expansion plans up its sleeve

The agency is looking to make its presence felt in Bangalore and Mumbai

M&C Saatchi, which set up its base in India with an office in Delhi last year, is now eyeing other cities. The agency plans to set up offices in Bangalore and Mumbai by the end of this year.

Says Kamal Oberoi, chairman and CEO, M&C Saatchi, “Expanding to other cities is purely driven by the availability of businesses in those cities. Setting up offices in other cities is based on the need of the client and our long-term perspective of forging a lasting relationship with the client.”

He adds, “As an agency which is not even a year old, our priority is to find a stable ground in the advertising industry. And after evaluating our performance in Delhi, it seems that we are headed in the right direction. I would say that our progress so far has been as anticipated during the launch.”

The agency intends going on a hiring spree in the coming months to meet its expansion plans. Is there any particular sector that the agency is looking at? Oberoi responds, “As an agency that has just debuted in India, we are like greenhorns hence for us right now the priority is to grow and not put any preferences to our growth by choosing few sectors.”

Delhi is the 11th agency of the M&C Saatchi network in the Asia Pacific region. Headquartered at London, M&C Saatchi in India entered into an alliance with Dhar & Hoon and ex-JWT president Kamal Oberoi to form the new agency.
