30 Indian finalists at Promax and BDA World Gold Awards

While 30 entries from five Indian companies have made it to the list of finalists for the Promax World Gold Awards, only two entries have been short-listed for the BDA World Gold Awards

Promax|BDA has announced the finalists for the Promax World Gold Awards and Broadcast Designer’s Association (BDA) World Gold Awards 2007. Thirty entries from five Indian companies have made it to the list of finalists for this year’s Promax World Gold Awards, but only two entries have been short-listed for the BDA World Gold Awards.

The Promax World Gold Awards are awarded for promotion and marketing related activities in electronic media, while the BDA Awards encourage designers and professionals involved in all aspects of electronic design in broadcast, broadband and multimedia.

Of the 30 entries short-listed for the Promax World Gold Awards 2007, Star India has got a bumper 18 finalists. These include Channel [V]’s entries titled ‘Dance With [V]’ in the Branding/Image Campaign Using One or More Media category and Promotional Item category; Channel [V]’s entry titled ‘Lolo Boney M’ in the Branding/Image Campaign Using One or More Media category; Channel [V]’s entry titled ‘Presented Bai’ in the Copywriting, Sound Design and Promotional Animation category; Channel [V]’s entry titled ‘Guns & Roses’ in the Branding/Image, Directing and Use of Original Music Composition for a Promo category; and Star India’s entries titled ‘Apaharan’ and ‘Rang de Basanti – Showcase’ in the Promotion for Theatrical Films Shown on Television and Sound Design category.

Four other companies with finalists at the Promax World Gold Awards 2007 are Nick India and MTV Networks, SET India, TV18 and Discovery Communications. Nick India and MTV Networks have six entries, including ‘Symphonick 1,2,3’ in the Branding/Image Campaign Using One or More Media category; ‘SymphoNick (3)’ in the Promotional Animation Campaign category; ‘Nick Menus And Bumpers’ in the Non-Promotional Animation category; ‘XBox Finger Football!’ in the On-Air Sales Promotion and Consumer Promotion category; and ‘SymphoNick’ in the Sound Design category.

SET India has four finalists: the SAB TV entry titled ‘Fame X – Let’s Fly’ in the Special Event Program Promotion and Out-of-House Program Promotion category; the SAB TV entry titled ‘Twinkle Beauty Parlour – Romeo’ in the Out-of-House Program Promotion category; and SET India’s entry titled ‘Left Right Left (Viral Exe)’ in the Online Advertising category.

Discovery Communications and TV18 have one finalist each: ‘Planet Earth’ and ‘Studio 18’,. respectively. ‘Planet Earth’ has been listed in the Use of Original Music Composition for a Promo category and ‘Studio 18’ has been nominated in the Branding/Image category.

The two entries that have been short-listed for the BDA World Gold Awards are from Star India and TV18. Star India’s finalist is Channel [V] ‘[V] Desi’ in the Art Direction & Design: On-Air Illustration category, while TV18’s finalist is ‘Studio 18’ in the Art Direction & Design: Image Promo category.

The final results for the awards will be announced at the Promax|BDA Conference in New York, June 12-14, 2007. Promax and BDA together form a potent and influential alliance of the leading marketing and design professionals in the electronic media world. To honour the best creatives across media, Promax|BDA also hosts country-specific, continental and global awards every year.
