Rediffusion DY&R strengthens its senior team

Chandana Agarwal joins as business head, while Ashutosh Karkhanis joins as creative director

Rediffusion DY&R has brought on board Chandana Agarwal as business head and Ashutosh Karkhanis as creative director. Both will be based in Mumbai.

Chandana Agarwal is a mainstream advertising professional with nine years of experience across a wide range of categories. Prior to joining Rediffusion DY&R, she was working with JWT as a client services director for the last two and a half years. Agarwal has worked on key accounts such as Kurkure, Nestle Confectionery and Nature Fresh cooking oil. She has also worked with agencies such as McCann-Erickson, FCB-Ulka and Grey Worldwide.

Karkhanis has spent the last three and a half years as creative director with Contract Advertising, where he worked on brands such as HSBC Bank, HSBC Mutual Fund, Asian Paints Royal and Royale Play, Gelusil, Cadbury Halls, Cadbury Bites and South Africa Tourism. In his 15-year career, he has won numerous national and international awards, which include the Cannes 2002 Merit (Press Ad category) for TVS Tyres, the AAAI Silver Award for HSBC SIP, the AAAI Silver Award (Outdoor category) for HSBC Mirror, the Effie Silver Award for the Asian Paints Royale campaign, and Campaign of the Year at the Bangalore Ad Club award for the Britannia 50-50 biscuits campaign.

Bimal Nair, executive vice-president and branch head of Rediffusion DY&R Mumbai, says, “Chandana will strengthen the ‘dream team’ vision that we have crafted at Rediffusion. She brings to the table prior knowledge acquired in the capacity of a client and as part of an agency. Her experience will help us build on our expertise in managing service brands and driving the agenda of account planning as a discipline.”
