Ogilvy to ‘teach and speak’ for Veta

Ogilvy has bagged the creative duties for Veta, the English training institute

Following a multi-agency pitch, Veta, one of Asia’s premier academies for teaching spoken English, has changed its creative partner of a year. The creative duties for Veta have moved from RK Swamy/BBDO to Ogilvy Chennai. Rediffusion DY&R, Contract Advertising, Law & Kenneth and JWT also participated in the pitch, which began in October 2007 and concluded in late December 2007.

RK Swamy/BBDO has done some good work for Veta in the past, creating instant recall for the brand. Veta, however, was looking for a fresh agency for its changing requirements.

Ogilvy to ‘teach and speak’ for Veta
Says Sreenadha Reddy Bezawada, general manager, brand management, Veta, “Over the last year, Veta’s brand standing has changed in India. Being an established leader in this zone, we were looking for a communication that would make us stand tall among the various local players who have come up in the English training sector. Ogilvy was chosen based on these insights.”

The media mix for the soon to be launched campaign comprises radio, television, a significant use of the Internet and mobile, and other below the line activities. The account size is estimated to be close to Rs 15 crore.

Veta was earlier known as the Vivekananda Institute. An English training academy, it was founded in 1981 and has more than 175 centres across India currently. Veta caters to various levels of learners. It also offers a distance training programme to those who have no easy access to a Veta Direct Training Centre.
