Banerjee, Sengupta to share Prashant Pandey’s responsibilities at JWT

JWT has promoted Debarpita Banerjee and Subho Sengupta, both as associate vice-president and client services director

Some days ago, afaqs! had reported that Prashant Pandey, vice-president, JWT, had quit the agency to move to Glaxo SmithKline as general manager, marketing, on the Horlicks business. To take over his responsibilities, JWT has promoted Debarpita Banerjee and Subho Sengupta, both as associate vice-president and client services director.

Rohit Ohri, managing partner, JWT Delhi, says, “The division of clients amongst the two has not happened yet, but the accounts that need their attention are Airtel DTH, GSK, Monster.com and SBI.”

Subho Sengupta
Banerjee has been with JWT for six years. She joined the agency as account director and rose to become client services director. Prior to joining JWT, she worked with Leo Burnett for four years. She began her career in 1996, doing a short stint with Genesis Kolkata. In 1997, she joined RK Swamy/BBDO and spent two and a half years there, working in both Kolkata and Delhi.

Banerjee has worked across accounts such as State Bank of India, Tata Steel, Duncan Tea, Living Media, Gillette, Oral-B, Dabur and Coca-Cola’s Maaza. At JWT, she has been working on the Glaxo SmithKline business.

Sengupta began his career in advertising in 1996 at Genesis Kolkata and spent four years there. He then relocated to Nepal to join JWT. After spending one and a half years in Nepal, he returned to Kolkata to join Bates 141(then 141 Sercon, the below-the-line arm of Bates Enterprise). In 2005, he joined Bates 141 (then Bates Enterprise) in Delhi. In 2007, he joined JWT Delhi as associate vice-president and client services director.

Sengupta has worked on acocunts such as Tata Steel, Jenson and Nicholson , Surya Tobacco, Unilever, ITC, Star Ananda, Apeejay Group, Reliance Telecom, Radico, Usha, Businessworld and Hitachi.
