An interesting mix of big, small and medium sized agencies made it to the final tally at Big Bang 2010
The Big Bang Awards 2010, the annual event of the Advertising Club of Bangalore, saw an interesting mix of big, small and medium sized agencies across the country taking away the metals.
With 21 metals in its kitty, Dentsu Communications grabbed the biggest share of the awards at the function. It won five golds in the categories including Single Press Ad - English; POP Material; Calendars (two golds) and Public Services Campaign for Incredible India, Acer, Aircel, Dentsu and NACO respectively. The agency was awarded nine silver and seven bronze metals as well.

Mudra Max, with seven metals (three golds, three silvers and one bronze), stood at the second spot. The gold metals were won for the out of home campaign for Aircel, the rural campaign for Shell foundation and events for TVS Scooty. It won silver metals for the rural campaign on Western Union Money Transfer Services and events for Wrigley and 7Up.
Fast Track stood third, winning two golds, one silver and one bronze in all. It won the golds for its TVCs on watches, sunglasses and accessories and radio spots for wrist watches (My ExBox). It won one silver for the radio spots on wrist watches and sunglasses and one bronze for wrist watches and sunglasses.
Apart from this, other agencies and clients that made their way to the metal list include ING Vysya Bank, which won two golds and one silver; Origami, winning two gold and one bronze; Music Broadcast - Radio City winning one gold, two silvers; and Mindshare, winning one gold, one silver and one bronze.
Think Pot and Turrino India won one gold, one silver and one bronze each. Geek, Suvarna and Video Post won one gold and one silver each. Bushtail Advertising, Disha Communications, Maxus, Rezonant Design Services and Thousand Suns won one gold each.
Beehive Communications won three silvers and two bronzes. George P Johnson won two silvers and one bronze; M&M Connect and Water Communication Design & Consulting got two silvers each; RK Swamy and Telibrahma got one silver and one bronze each. Pentagon Communications, Phoenix Films and Saber Marketing Services won one silver each. Adverto Advertising, Ogilvy and Saatchi & Saatchi won two bronzes each.
Titan Industries, which won the Client of the Year award, received one gold in the TVC-English/FMCG category for its Titan of the Day campaign; one silver in TVC-English/FMCG category for it Raga Flora campaign; and two bronzes in the Single Press Ad-English and Radio Spot-Services categories for the Raga Flora and Titan of the Day campaigns.
Also, there were media excellence awards for the media agencies. OMD India won three golds and one silver for Johnson & Johnson and Intel; while Maxus won two golds, two silvers and three bronzes in this section. However, since Maxus has already won one gold for its digital campaign for Nokia and two golds, three silvers and five bronzes for creating the website, web banner, web mailer and online campaign for Titan Industries, Nokia India, MTR and Wipro respectively, it walked away with the Media Agency of the Year award.
Mindshare stood third in the section, winning one gold, two silvers and one bronze for Aditya Birla Nuvo and Madura Garments, IBM, Nike and United Breweries, while Madison Media Infinity followed with one silver and one bronze for Tata Tea.
In the digital section, apart from Maxus topping the chart, Mindshare scored second highest, winning two golds, three silvers and two bronzes for designing the web banner, online campaign and media innovation for clients such as Madura Garments, Yourself, United Spirits, Yahoo! India and Nike. 141 Sercon, Quadrant Communication and Twenty Onwards Media won one gold each for their works on Nirula's, In Defence of Animals (IDA) and Random Magazine Plus General Public, respectively.
Thousand Suns won one silver for Indus Bangalore (Web Mailer category) and one bronze for Planet Scuba Bangalore (Media Innovation), while Zapak Digital Entertainment won a silver for Vinod Chopra Films and a bronze for Axe Inxtinct- HLL, both in the Online Campaign category.
Geek, JWT, OMD India and Origami won one silver each for Britannia, ING Vysya Bank, HP and Nilaraya Trading respectively. Adverto Advertising won two bronzes while Mudra Max, Pentagon Communications and Rezonant Design Services won one bronze each.
Among the special awards dedicated to the Bengaluru based advertising agencies, Beehive Communications grabbed the maximum number of awards, bagging one gold and two silvers for creating an 'Original Kannada Press Ad' for Asianet Suvarna and the Unpublished Campaign for ACS.
Bushtail Advertising and ING Vysya Bank won one gold each for Pril (Real Estate) and ING Vysya campaign. Origami stood fourth, winning two silvers and two bronzes for G-Sport and Value Design Build, while Mindshare and Dentsu Communications got one silver each for Landmark Group and Incredible India campaigns respectively. M&M Connect bagged one bronze for M-Drive.
