Mudra India has appointed Ajay Naqvi as executive vice-president and head of Mudra North and East. Before this, Naqvi was with Rediffusion Y&R, where he was the national business head for Airtel.

Naqvi has over 10 years' experience of working with various agencies, such as Ogilvy India, Leo Burnett and Bates Asia, besides Rediffusion Y&R. He has worked on a variety of brands during his career, including Castrol, Indian Oil, Amaron, Tata Motors, DHL, HPCL, Nokia and Heineken. The noteworthy campaigns he has worked on include Sumo Victa ('Kuch log Sumo chalate hain') and Safari ('Reclaim your life').

Speaking about the appointment, Jude Fernandes, CEO, Mudra India, says "Naqvi is perfectly suited for the position. I'm sure that his addition will infuse the team with new enthusiasm to deliver better solutions and results for all our partners."

He adds that Naqvi will be responsible for good growth in the region, and for delivering on critical fronts, such as creative product, client relationships and new business.

According to Naqvi, this new journey with Mudra might give him an "obtainable destination". While talking about the biggest challenge he will face, Naqvi emphasises simplicity, which he wants to maintain in the advertising world.
