With Diwali round the corner, competition has increased among branded mall owners in the metros. Plucky malls are putting up the buntings, hoping to entice the consumers with new events, activities and incentive schemes to improve footfalls and spur sales conversions. 'Everything Goes! The 15-day long Diwali celebrations called 'Celebrate Diwali; will capture the essence of the festival through entertainment and contests at the Oberoi Mall. There are daily assured prizes for customers shopping above a particular amount. The mall décor, will also reflect the spirit of the festive season. On entering, customers at Oberoi Mall will be transported to a jeweled wonderland, complete with lamp displays and Diwali merchandise. The food court at the mall will stir up a special menu for customers with special offers on select items.
"However our trump card is the card based Game - Triple strike", smiles Vjay. "The idea is to involve shoppers in an exciting game with aspects related with the festival of Diwali like cards and dice".
Every shopper who has shopped for over Rs.2010/- is eligible to take part in the card and dice game, Triple Strike, which is based on symbols (Diamonds, Hearts, Spades, Clubs, Circle and Joker). The game unit will have a wall depicting all the 5 symbols along with a corresponding number. The numbers will range from 2 to12. The challenge is to get a triple strike i.e, get the same symbol thrice in the 3 throws of dice by the shopper. A range of prizes are up for grabs for the winner from a 1.5L modular kitchen from Oren, to a free night stay at Westin, to fashion jewellery, to bags for kids.
