Anuradha Aggarwal replaces Sameer Satpathy as CMO at Marico

Mondelez's Aggarwal to take over on August 24..

Marico has announced the resignation of Sameer Satpathy as chief marketing officer as he will now be pursuing opportunities outside the company. Satpathy plans to continue as CMO of the company until September 15, to facilitate a seamless transition for his successor, Anuradha Aggarwal, who will take charge on August 24.

On the development, Saugata Gupta, MD and CEO, Marico, says, "Sameer has been a valued member and an integral part of Marico's growth and transformative journey for the past decade. He has significantly contributed in building the Marico of the future; and played a key role in shaping its marketing organisation as it exists today."

Aggarwal is a marketing professional with 18 years of experience across diverse consumer businesses. She has worked with organisations such as Hindustan Unilever, followed by Vodafone and most recently with Mondelez. In her previous role, she was director- innovations, biscuits category for Mondelez Asia Pacific.

Aggarwal holds a Post Graduate Degree in Business Administration from IIM- Bangalore and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Sri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University.

She started her career at Unilever where she worked for 12 years, across sales, marketing and general management functions, managing local and global brands and businesses across India and South Asia. She was at the helm of many brand transformation projects including the migration of Surf, the success story of Dove hair care, relaunch of Vaseline and the re-ignition of Clinic Plus. Post Unilever, Aggarwal was senior vice president - brand communication and consumer insights with Vodafone India for four years.

She joined Mondelez India Foods (formerly Cadbury India) in January 2014, as category director for biscuits. Her role included leading innovation strategy, new product development and global brand deployment in China, India, Australia, South and South East Asia.

Marico is one of India's leading consumer products group in the global beauty and wellness space. During 2014-15, Marico claims to have recorded a turnover of approximately Rs. 57 billion (USD 940 million), through its products sold in India and about 25 other countries in Asia and Africa. The company's brand portfolio includes Parachute, Parachute Advanced, Saffola, Hair and Care, Nihar, Nihar Naturals, Livon, Set Wet, Mediker and Revive. The international consumer products portfolio contributes to about 22 percent of the group's revenue, with brands like Parachute, HairCode, Fiancée, Caivil, Hercules, Black Chic, Code 10, Ingwe, X-Men and Thuan Phat.
