Gaurish Pathare, director, Central Trading Group (CTG), Group M, has put in his papers. He is moving to The Times of India (TOI) group as a chief manager of Response.

Confirming this development to agencyfaqs!, Pathare says, “I will be mainly responsible for the ad sales of the TOI-BBC magazines such as Femina, Filmfare, and other upcoming titles. In addition, as the regional head of the west, I will also be formulating marketing strategies for the titles.”

Pathare, who has always been into media buying and planning, started his career with Clea Advertising in 1994. Within two years, he moved to Group M’s Fulcrum – which exclusively handles HLL brands – where he spent around eight years. Fulcrum is a Group M agency.

In 2004, when Group M formed a new division – Central Trading Group (CTG) for buying media for the non HLL clients, Pathare joined in as a director.

When asked about what made him shift to the media selling business from media buying, Pathare says, “I wasn’t exactly looking out for a job. I just got an irresistible offer from the TOI group that I couldn’t refuse.”
