Disney appoints Roshini Bakshi as director, Disney consumer products

A management graduate from IIM Ahmedabad, Bakshi has over 16 years of experience in the field of marketing and licensing across various industries spanning retail, consumer products, finance and IT

Roshini Bakshi, group vice-president, marketing, Polaris Software Labs, has joined as director of Disney Consumer Products (DCP).

Rajat Jain, managing director, Walt Disney (India), says, “Bakshi’s experience, both in the retail and licensing space, will be critical to us in realising the potential of India as one of the fastest growing retail market in the Asia Pacific region. We are confident that her expertise coupled with extremely strong franchises and our high brand equity will help drive Disney Consumer Products into a new era of growth in India.”

A management graduate from IIM Ahmedabad, Bakshi has over 16 years of experience in the field of marketing and licensing across various industries spanning retail, consumer products, finance and IT. Prior to joining Polaris Software Labs she has done stints at Mattel Toys (India) Pvt. Ltd., Prudential ICICI Mutual Funds, Amex-TRS and Lakme Lever Ltd.

Bakshi will spearhead the growth of the existing licensing business of DCP in India across various categories such as apparel and footwear, toys and role-play sets, home décor, books, interactive games, food and beverages, electronics and animation art.

In her role as an executive member of The Walt Disney India management team, Bakshi will also be working alongside the television and other lines of businesses to position DCP as an important vehicle to drive synergies of the company in India.
