Ten Sports’ Arun Poddar moves on to head Zee Turner as CEO

At Ten Sports, Poddar was vice-president, distribution. Prior to that, he has worked with ESPN STAR Sports and India TV

Arun Poddar, vice-president, distribution, Ten Sports, will have a larger role to play now. He has joined Zee Turner as CEO and will take charge from the middle of April 2006.

Laxmi Goel, chairman, Zee Turner, comments, “Poddar will lead the company in the same direction that has been successfully established by Siddharth Jain, former CEO of Zee Turner.”

Jain has played a prominent role in the development and growth of Zee Turner since its inception in 2002. Jain was seconded by Turner as a key player for the launch of the joint venture, and now that he has taken the partnership to the next level, he will return to Turner.

As CEO, Poddar will play a strategic role and work closely with Laxmi Goel to support the business growth of the Zee Turner bouquet.  Prior to his stint at Ten Sports, Poddar had worked with India TV and ESPN STAR Sports.

For the record, Zee Turner is a distribution joint venture under which all Zee and Turner channels – Zee TV, Zee News, Zee Cinema, Zee Café, Cartoon Network, Pogo, CNN International and CNBC – are sold and marketed collectively to cable operators and MSOs across the country.
