Following Ashish Kashyap’s exit from Google India, the company is still looking for his replacement; in the meanwhile, Sunderaraman K will be the acting sales head
Sunderaraman K will step into Ashish Kashyap’s shoes for the moment at Google India. Kashyap, as reported earlier by agencyfaqs!, quit Google to head MIH’s Internet business in India.
Sunderaraman has been appointed acting sales head till such time as a replacement is found for Kashyap. Company executives said that it was uncertain whether he would take on Kashyap’s designation in the near future as they were looking for an appropriate replacement.
In his new role, Sunderaraman will work with the sales and marketing teams to evaluate and drive domestic business opportunities with customers and advertisers. He will also continue to oversee online advertising.
Before this, Sunderaraman was looking after the online sales and operations for Google India. He was also instrumental in setting up the division, which is responsible for the online sales of Google’s advertising and publishing products to Indian advertisers.
It is learnt that Sunderaraman joined Google India in 2005. Prior to that, he served as the head of sales and alliances for interactive services at Sify. He has also worked with Pepsico India as head, distribution, South India.
