The first new edition will be from Raipur, to be launched on September 26. Priced at Rs 2, the Raipur edition will be start with a print run of one lakh copies. The price for the Indore edition is higher than its other editions, as ‘Nai Dunia’ sells at Rs 1.50 in Indore and Gwalior. However, the Indore edition is sold at Rs 3 for readers outside the city. The Raipur edition will have 20 pages in all, of which 12 pages will be coloured.

The next edition for ‘Nai Dunia’ will be from Jabalpur in the first quarter of 2007.

But before that, ‘Nai Dunia’ plans to relaunch the Bhopal edition, giving it a bigger push. The edition from Bhopal is called ‘Rajya Ki Nayi Dunia’. Back then, ‘Nai Dunia’ had preferred a soft launch due to certain financial issues.

With the re-launch of Bhopal edition, the company now will have a new office and an entirely new set-up in Bhopal.

For the record, ‘Nai Dunia’ claims a circulation of three lakh copies for its Indore edition, The Gwalior edition, which was launched in January 2005, started off with 56,000 copies.

For the next two-three years, ‘Nai Dunia’ plans to continue to expand and strengthen its print foothold. The immediate plan is to consolidate their presence in Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh with ten more editions, two of which will be from Bhilai and Bilaspur. It may expand to other states in future.

Asked about the company’s interest in other media such as radio and television, Vineet Sethia, director, ‘Nai Dunia’ maintains that the company will concentrate on its core area, which is print. “At least for the short term we won’t focus on anything else,” he says.
