Ravi Kiran assigned additional role at Starcom

From January 1, 2007, Kiran will also handle the additional post of CEO, Starcom Diversified Services, in the Asian region. He will continue to function in his present role of CEO, Starcom MediaVest Group, Asia Pacific

Ravi Kiran, CEO, Starcom Media Vest Group, South Asia, is all set to step into a new role. From January 1, 2007, Kiran will also handle the additional post of CEO, Starcom Diversified Services, in the Asian region. This is the first time that such a position has been created. The idea is to refresh and strengthen the group’s communication services.

Kiran and his team will be responsible for setting up and driving new and specialist marketing and communication services across all fourteen markets in the region.

D Sriram, chief executive officer, Starcom MediaVest Group, Asia Pacific, says, “Grabbing consumer attention has increasingly become difficult these days. In such a changing scenario, we wish to expand our skills and competencies to be able to offer whole set of planning and activation solutions to our clients. Kiran’s elevation in this context will help SMG to achieve success in the rest of the region where we operate.”

At SMG, Kiran has helped steer the group in building its strengths in areas such as online and wireless marketing, entertainment and embedded marketing, sports and cause enabled marketing, out-of-home and ambient marketing, small town and rural marketing, media supported amplification, and navigational signage and retail branding. On his elevation, Kiran remarks, “Communication challenges are increasingly changing everyday. I hope to be able to take some of my experiences here to other markets in Asia, which I’m sure are different and unique in their own way.”

The rest of the management structure in India remains unchanged.
