Bhaskar Group’s My FM moves to a new frequency

As per the government’s allotment, My FM’s new frequency is 94.3MHz

The Bhaskar Group FM venture, My FM, has moved to a new frequency, 94.3MHz, from the earlier 106MHz. This is a result of the government’s enforcement and has taken effect from the evening of November 12, 2006.

The government allotted a new frequency to the Bhaskar Group, considering the requirements of all the FM stations operating in India. My FM is present at the moment in Jaipur, reaching out to places such as Tonk, Sawai, Madhopur, Karauli, Dausa, Alwar, Sikar, Jhunjhunu and Ajmer.

My FM officials are undeterred about the repercussions of the change in frequency, which might affect its brand image. “We have a product that caters to the listeners’ taste and they seek our content because they connect with My FM,” says Viplove Gupte, national programming head.

Sanjeev Kotnala, head, communication, Bhaskar Group, is of the opinion that irrespective of the change in frequency, listeners will tune in if the station performs well continuously. “If they don’t find My FM on the 106 frequency, they will search for it and listen to it,” he asserts.

To communicate the change, My FM has initiated a ground level ‘Kaan Marodo’ campaign, which asks people to tweak the dial of their radio sets and tune in to the new frequency.
