Starcom’s Anita Nayyar joins MPG as CEO

Nayyar was functioning as managing director, Starcom, North India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, till now. Jeffrey Crasto and Ruby Bana have also been assigned bigger roles at MPG

Anita Nayyar, managing director, Starcom, North India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, is all set to move to MPG as its country manager, She will report to Vishnu Mohan, CEO, MPG, Asia Pacific. Nayyar has 23 years of experience in the industry, having worked for Saatchi & Saatchi, O&M, Initiative, MediaCom and Mudra prior to her stint at Starcom. She joined Starcom in 2003.

Commenting on the appointment, Vishnu Mohan remarks, “Nayyar carries with her years of management experience across multiple networks – an asset that will help take MPG to the next level of growth in India.”

Nayyar says, “MPG has been on a different path of prosperity in 2006 and it has been sending the right signals with its talent induction, the opening of the online and sports marketing operations and the new business wins.”

“I would like to accelerate this build-up, strengthen its overall offering and expand its presence in the other markets of the subcontinent,” she adds.

Jeffrey Crasto, president and chief buying officer, MPG India, has been assigned the role of chief investment officer for South East Asia, in addition to his current responsibilities.

Ruby Bana, currently chief strategy officer, MPG India, will also add South East Asia to her responsibilities.

These senior level management changes come in the wake of MPG’s other expansion plans, including the opening up of its offices across several Asian markets. While the focus will continue to be India (where Crasto and Bana will support Nayyar in scaling up the Indian operations), the trio will also work with Vishnu Mohan in supporting the operational expansions in other Asian markets.

At present, MPG operates in India with offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai.
