Hutheesing has been associated with design and style for more than 25 years
The INX Network, which plans to launch three channels in India, has appointed Umang Hutheesing, a creative professional, as director, design and style.
Indrani Mukerjea, group executive director, INX Media, has confirmed the development to agencyfaqs! Mukerjea says, “INX is committed to providing world class content to viewers. In this context, style and design play a critical role in enhancing the overall quality of the content. Umang is one of India’s best known names in style, and I am sure he will add immense value to our on-air content, ground events, and more.”
In 2002, Hutheesing was national judge for design excellence in jewellery at the World Gold Council’s Swaranjali Awards. He was associated as a creative consultant with the award-winning IMAX film on India’s cultural heritage, ‘Mystique India’, which won the Viewers’ Choice Award in 2006 in Paris from among 200 IMAX films. In 2002-3, ‘El Décor’ magazine ranked Hutheesing’s work alongside that of style and design stalwarts such as Salvadore Dali, Coco Chanel, Alda Fendi and Athena Wilson, among others.
Hutheesing, who has been closely associated with Asia’s premier design institution, National Institute of Design, for the past five years, says he is delighted to join INX Media.
He says, “It is great to join a team of visionaries who are leading entertainment for the New India with a strong focus, not just on brilliant content, but also on the vital elements of design and style. I am very happy to be part of a team that will redefine the way television content is created and received.”
