Sudhir Agarwal takes charge of Wire and Wireless India (WWIL), an Essel Group company
Wire and Wireless India, the multisystem operator (MSO) of the Essel Group, has announced the appointment of Sudhir Agarwal as chief executive officer. Agarwal will be based in Mumbai. He takes over from Deepak Chandnani, who has resigned from the company.
Earlier, Agarwal was president, India and SAARC, Haier Telecom. With experience of more than 18 years in commercial and marketing management, he has worked with telecommunications, consumer electronics and office automation companies such as Motorola, Bharti Televentures, Xerox Modicorp and Philips.
He is a postgraduate in business administration from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, and has also attended the Advanced Management Program at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

For the record, WWIL has seven regional offices and is present in 45 cities in India. It operates 73 analogue and seven digital head-ends through a network of more than 4,000 franchisees. The company has a subscriber base of 6.7 million and is one of the biggest MSOs in India's cable television industry.
