Radio Mirchi continues to lead in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata; while Big FM rules the charts in Bengaluru
The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 3, 2010 for the four RAM markets is out. Here is a low-down on the week gone by.
Mumbai
The No. 1 radio station is Radio Mirchi, with a market share of 17.6 per cent. The station has gained 0.4 percentage point, in comparison to the previous week. The average share of Radio Mirchi in the city for the past four weeks was 17.1 per cent.

The second and third spots are occupied by Red FM and Radio City, respectively. Red FM has a market share of 14 per cent, with a gain of 0.5 percentage point over the previous week. However, this is marginally lower than its last four weeks' average share of 14.2 per cent.
Radio City has a market share of 13.3 per cent, 0.2 percentage point higher than the previous week, and also higher than its last four weeks' average market share of 12.8 per cent.
This week, Big FM has moved up two spots to No. 4. It has garnered a market share of 12.1 per cent, 0.5 percentage point higher than its last week's market share of 11.7 per cent. At No. 5 is Fever FM, which has recorded a market share of 11.9 per cent. Its average market share for the last four weeks is 12 per cent, while it garnered 12.1 per cent share last week.
AIR FM Gold has dropped down two spots to No. 6. This week, it has garnered a market share of 11.1 per cent, registering a loss of 1.5 percentage points, vis-à-vis Week 2.
Radio One is at No. 7 and AIR FM Rainbow at No. 8; their market shares are 6.7 per cent and 4.9 per cent, respectively.
This week among the other stations in Mumbai, Vividh Bharati has a market share of 3.8 per cent, followed by Meow FM (2.5 per cent) and Akashvani Mumbai (2.2 per cent).
Delhi
Radio Mirchi is at the top, and its market share remains unchanged at 24.7 per cent. This is marginally lower than the radio station's average market share over the past four weeks (24.9 per cent).
Fever FM, at No. 2, has a market share of 18.8 per cent, which is slightly higher than last week, as well as in comparison to its average market share of 18.4 per cent in the last four weeks.
At No. 3, AIR FM Gold has a market share of 17.2 per cent; it has registered a loss of 1.2 percentage points in comparison to Week 2. The last four weeks' average market share for the radio station is 17.6 per cent.
Red FM is at No. 4 and Radio City at No. 5. Their market shares are 9.2 per cent and 8.2 per cent, respectively. Red FM's four weeks' average market share is 9.1 per cent; while Radio City's average market is 8.5 per cent for the same period.
Big FM, with a market share of 6.7 per cent, is at No. 6 in Delhi. Radio One follows, with a market share of 5.9 per cent.
Among the other stations in Delhi in Week 3 is Meow FM, which has a market share of 2.8 per cent. It is followed by Hit FM (2.4 per cent), AIR FM Rainbow (2.2 per cent), Vividh Bharati (1.9 per cent) and Akashvani Delhi (0.1 per cent).
Bengaluru
Big FM leads in Bengaluru, followed by Radio Mirchi and Fever FM in second and third place, respectively.
Big FM has a market share of 19.3 per cent, 0.3 percentage point higher than last week, but slightly lower than its average market share of the last four weeks (19.4 per cent).
Radio Mirchi has garnered a market share of 17.9 per cent, gaining 0.1 percentage point. Its average market share in the last four weeks stands at 17.5 per cent.
Fever FM has a market share of 15.2 per cent, which is 0.1 percentage point lower than last week, and 0.4 percentage point lower than its last four weeks' average share (15.6 per cent).
Radio City is at No. 4, with a market share of 12.5 per cent. Its average market share for the last four weeks is 12.2 per cent. AIR FM Rainbow follows with a market share of 11 per cent, registering a gain of 0.9 percentage point in comparison to Week 2, and its last four weeks' average share (10.1 per cent).
This week both, Red FM and Radio One have an identical market share of 8.7 per cent each. Red FM has lost 0.4 percentage point in comparison to last week, whereas Radio One's share has remained unchanged.
Among other radio stations in Bengaluru in Week 3, Vividh Bharati has a market share of 3.6 percent, followed by Radio Indigo (2.2 per cent), Gyan Vani (0.6 per cent) and Akashvani (0.4 per cent).
Kolkata
In Week 3 too, Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 20.6 per cent. This is identical to its average share in the last four weeks.
Big FM and Friends FM are at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Big FM has a market share of 16.8 per cent with a loss of 0.2 percentage point. The last four weeks' average market share for the radio station is 16.5 per cent.
Friends FM has a market share of 13.5 per cent, losing 0.5 percentage point vis-à-vis last week. This is also lower than its last four weeks' average market share of 14.2 per cent.
Aamar FM is at No. 4, with a market share of 11.1 per cent, registering a gain of 0.3 percentage point. Fever FM has moved up a spot to No. 5. It has a market share of 7.6 per cent, identical to its last four week's average market share.
Slipping a spot to No. 6 is Red FM. It has registered a market share of 7.5 per cent, with a loss of 0.4 percentage point over last week.
This week, Radio One and Meow are placed at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively. Radio One has a market share of 6.1 per cent; while Meow FM has 5.4 per cent. Radio One has lost 0.1 percentage point. On the other hand, Meow FM has gained 0.4 percentage point in comparison to Week 2.
This week, among the other stations in Kolkata, AIR FM Rainbow has a market share of 3.7 per cent. It is followed by AIR FM Gold (3.3 per cent), Akashvani (2.3 per cent), Power FM (1.5 per cent) and Vividh Bharati (0.6 per cent).
