Chopra says, “South Asia is quickly emerging as one of the world’s most important markets today, and that is an undeniable fact. Although we are a relatively late entrant in this geography, and are up against formidable competition, it will be our endeavour to emerge as a leader and not merely as another player.”

In an official communiqué, Matthew Godfrey, CEO, Publicis Asia, says, “Given the importance of the South Asia region to both Publicis and our global clients, it’s critical that we have the right structure to develop our brand in this geography. Nakul’s proven ability to lead our existing agencies in India makes him the perfect choice for this important role.”

Chopra started his advertising career at the age of 18 and has more than 30 years of experience. He started his career with JWT (then Hindustan Thompson Associates), and later joined Grey Worldwide (then Trikaya Grey) as executive vice-president. At Grey Worldwide, he was in charge of the Mumbai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad offices. Next, he joined Publicis Ambience (then Ambience). As president, Publicis, he looked after both Publicis India and Publicis Ambience. He has headed Publicis India as CEO for two years.
