Reliance Broadcast Network Limited (RBNL) has roped in Ramita Chaudhuri as business head for its regional Hindi general entertainment channel Big Magic.
Chaudhuri will be responsible for the overall functioning of the channel. Her primary objective will be to ensure product development, amplifying viewership of Big Magic, and ensuring development of integrated solutions for clients.
This is her second stint with the company. In her earlier association, she was station head, Big FM Kolkata.
Commenting on the appointment, Choudhury says, "Her excellent track record and varied industry experience will work to the advantage of the business. Her ability to cull consumer insights and work on them to create winning brands is a trait which will work to the advantage of this business, targetted at the Hindi heartland. We are confident that she will lead the team to work 'Magic' into the lives of audiences."
Earlier, Chaudhuri was general manager, market activations, Carlsberg India. She was instrumental in ensuring that flagship brands such as Carlsberg and Tuborg gained visibility and acceptance amongst consumers across India through effective pan-India brand activations and trade programmes.
Chaudhuri says, "The channel has already reached leadership position and I look forward to further growing it and creating an entertainment destination for audiences in the Hindi heartland, along with offering marketers an excellent platform for their brands."
Chaudhuri has more than 12 years of experience in advertising and direct marketing across sectors such as FMCG, media and telecom. Some of the companies she has served include Hutchison Telecom, Wunderman, Direm and Lowe.
