Cannes 2011: 3 Silver, 2 Bronze and 40 nominations for India on Day 2

On the second day at Cannes, India agencies -- Mudra, Grey, McCann, BBDO, Ogilvy, Joshbro, Sorento, Maxus, and Lodestar received 40 nominations. With this, 56 Indian entries have been shortlisted until now, in seven categories -- Radio, Media, Press, Outdoor, PR, Promo & Activation and Direct. Besides, BBDO has won 2 silvers, while Mudra has won 1 silver and 2 bronzes.

The second day of the International Festival of Creativity started on a nice note. Early in the morning, shortlist announcements for four categories - Radio, Press, Outdoor and Media - were made,with India having received 40 nominations.

In Press Lions alone, 19 Indian entries have been shortlisted. Mudra has again taken the lead with six nominations, followed by three nominations each for Grey, McCann, BBDO India and Ogilvy. Taproot has also got one nomination in this category.

Mudra's six shortlisted entries are for Olive Telecom, Union Bank of India, Stedfast, while Grey was nominated for its Pantene campaign -- Denim, Sweater, Corduroy. McCann got nominated for Onida, while Ogilvy India got shortlisted for Mentos Sour Marbles.

BBDO India was shortlisted for its campaign on White Collar Hippies, while Taproot's sole nomination in this category came for Times Classified.

In Outdoor, India has got 11 nominations which include three each for Taproot and Joshbro Communications, two each for BBDO India and Sorento Healthcare and one for McCann Worldgroup. The three nominations for Joshbro Communications are for its campaign for Shoe Bazar --a PETA anti-leather footwear, while Taproot's nominations are for Audio Book India. BBDO India's campaign for White Collar Hippies has also got two nominations in this category.

McCann has also bagged all three nominations from India in Radio, which includes two for Onida and one for Radio Mirchi.

BBDO has managed three nominations in the Media as well, for three of its campaigns - AntiSmoking, Shave Sutra and Aviva Child Plan. Besides Lodestar, Contract, McCann and Maxus have got one shortlisted entry each.

Later in the day, as the winners lists were out, BBDO India and Mudra Communications turned out to be the best performers until now at Cannes 2011. BBDO India converted its first shortlists to two silvers, while Mudra bagged one silver and two bronzes.
