An MBA from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, Halve started his career in 1986 with Tata Administrative Service (TAS). He moved on to join Titan Watches and was part of the team that launched the brand. He then moved to advertising, with a stint at Lowe (then Lintas) in Mumbai. In the early 1990s, he helped start Lowe's operations in Dubai. That was followed by a four-year stint with British American Tobacco (BAT).

He returned to India in 2000 and worked with several corporations, including Reliance Infocom WebStore, Shaw Wallace and Britannia.

afaqs! interviewed Halve in 2006 soon after he moved on from Britannia to join GoAir; he told the interviewer back then that the re-launch of liquor brand White Mischief during his stint at Shaw Wallace was “most exhilarating” work of his life.

In 2007 Halve became an independent consultant. In 2009 he donned the investor’s hat as operating partner of Samara Capital. As per his LinkedIn profile his last professional association was with Tattva Consultants as co-founder.

Raj Halve’s brother Anand Halve (co-founder of brand consultancy Chlorophyll) passed away in November 2016.
