The latest social media campaign by FCB Ulka India and ScoopWhoop encourages women of all ages to register a virtual visit to the Sabarimala Temple in Kerala. The campaign urges women to mark their virtual visit to the temple with a check-in on Facebook. The campaign was launched on 7th February 2019. It further urges the participants to invite others.
Women between the age of 10-50 were not allowed to enter the Sabarimala shrine until the Supreme Court of India's ruling in September 2018. The court ruled that women, irrespective of age, can now enter the temple. Recently, the Sabarimala Temple Board also allowed women to enter the temple.
Sharing her perceptive on the campaign, Swati Bhattacharya, CCO, FCB Ulka says, "It is so heartening to see that all the issues we ignited with Sindoor Khela are gaining such momentum in the country! What happened at Sabarimala or the Kinnar Akhada's debut at the Kumbh Mela just imply that time's up! Things do need to happen in a fair and free manner for women. And this is what happens when you tell a woman you can't go there, or you can't do that!"
How to Check-in:
1. Add (Name) Ka Sabarimala.
2. Add the hashtag #SabKaSabarimala.
3. Post and add a reason if required.
4. Tag a female friend.
