Nai Duniya Media is all set for two new initiatives in central India. The group will launch its bilingual tabloid, iNext in Indore. The company also plans to revamp the newly acquired Hindi daily, Nai Duniya in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Both the developments will come into effect around early September.
iNext Indore, a 20-page coloured tabloid will be initially circulated as an add-on with Nai Duniya. Later, it may be converted to a standalone newspaper. The newspaper costs Re 1 in all the other cities where it is present.
iNext reaches 12 cities apart from Indore, including Agra, Allahabad, Bareilly, Dehradun, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Jamshedpur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Meerut, Patna and Ranchi. All the editions are bilingual, covering the city news along with substantial national news.
The newspaper was launched in 2006, while the online version was launched in January this year. A new team has been formed for the new editions of the paper, which will be headed by Salil Tandon, vice-president, Nai Duniya. iNext is headed by Alok Sanwal, editor and project head.
Tandon says, "Indore needed such a kind of product. The city is full of youthful people. iNext, with its cheerful and fun content, will complement a comparatively serious offering, Nai Duniya."
The company has also planned to bring in a new and fresh look for Nai Duniya's Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh editions.
In MP and Chhattisgarh, the layout and design of the newspaper will be made more colourful and contemporary, with the price remaining the same. The Hindi daily will continue to have the supplements, Tarang, Nayika, Glamour Duniya, Spectrum, Sehat and Yuva. However, these, too, will undergo design changes.
For the record, Jagran Prakashan bought over the Hindi daily, Nai Dunia early this year. The newspaper was originally launched in 1947 by Narendra Tiwari, Babu Labhchand Chhajlani and Basantilal Sethia.Major stories over the last 30 days
