Meta and JioHotstar have partnered to launch an awareness campaign using the world of Special Ops 2.0 to highlight the dangers of rising online scams, particularly “digital arrest” frauds.
The video shows Kay Kay Menon back as Himmat Singh, this time tackling online scams instead of spy missions. The storyline follows a behind-the-scenes interaction where a crew member receives a suspicious video call from someone impersonating law enforcement and threatening arrest - a scenario drawn from real-life scam tactics. Menon’s character intercepts the call and turns the moment into a witty yet impactful lesson in spotting and shutting down scam attempts.
The video integrates WhatsApp’s in-built privacy and safety features, including the ability to silence unknown callers, block and report suspicious contacts, and maintain greater control over interactions.
This initiative is part of Meta’s broader efforts to raise public awareness about digital safety in India. It also reflects a growing trend of using entertainment-led storytelling to engage users and educate them about cybersecurity.
