MADDY's the Annual Flagship event of The Advertising Club of Madras is scheduled was held on 31st March, 2017 in Chennai at the ITC Grand Chola. In its 37th edition Maddy's recognized the creative excellence for the work done by creative agencies, advertisers, media agencies etc across 30 odd categories. The number of entries were more than 1200 from across the country indicating the growing stature of the Awards.
For the first time there was a knowledge session included as part of the awards. The key note address was delivered by M N Srinivasan, Vice-Chairman & Managing Director of India Cements. This was followed by a one on one conversation between S Yesudass of Triggerbridge and Meera Iyer of Big Basket on the topic "Digital Exploitation Vs Digital Exploration.
Chennai based OPN Communications won the agency of the year award.The agency picked up many metals for its work done on #TNElections100percent.
The jury list was also expanded from the usual 3 members to 8 with the likes of Ambi Parameshwaran ( Independent Brand Consultant ) ,K V Sridhar (Hyper Collective ) Chax ( Creative Consultant ) ,Titus ( Dentsu ) ,Yesudas (Triggerbridge) , Niranjan (Why Axis ), Kiran ( O&M ) ,Narayan Devanathan ( Dentsu ) Zee Tamizh was the title sponsor this year and the event is powered by Ananda Vikatan and Billroth Hospitals.
