In an email to afaqs!, PB Ramaswamy, cluster head, Big 92.7 FM Tamil Nadu, says, “Our new tailor-made properties will provide wholesome entertainment to the listeners. The content on the station is local and interactive; and these new properties will add to the programming mix of the station. Freshness and humour of the characters will tickle the funny bone of the listeners.”

The first interstitial to be introduced on-air will be Chinnaraasu, where the funny character will be presented with a humorous situation and he will come up with a song to match the situation. Big Lollu, another character, will dole out helpful trivia and information on varied subjects.

The third character, Dammara Seidigal, will keep the listeners abreast of the latest happenings in and around their city. The fourth entertainer is Major Manikkam, who having served in the army, takes great pride in delivering witty dialogues, and will ask the listeners to come up with equally rib-tickling responses.

Sharing the insight and research behind the concept and characters, Ramaswamy adds, “The humorous characters have been drawn up, taking in consideration the fact that the listeners associate themselves with the message being delivered by the characters, and so they instantly enjoy the joke. The appearance of these characters will also lend a different listening experience.”

The radio station is hopeful that listeners will lap up this new initiative and will be happier being part of the laugh riot, while enjoying the mood-based music.
