Siddharth Jain takes over as ZEE Turner CEO

Jain replaces Dheeraj Kapuria, who will now handle only the international operations for ZEE

Siddharth Jain - who was the chief operating officer of ZEE Turner, the distribution alliance between Turner International and ZEE Network - has been elevated as the chief executive office of the company.

Jain replaces Dheeraj Kapuria, who was the CEO of ZEE Turner earlier. Kapuria, who had an additional responsibility as president of the international division, had been hopping between India and the US in his earlier stint.

Jain played a key role in providing strategic direction to ZEE Turner's marketing efforts and the business growth of the bouquet, besides overseeing the distribution sales for the company.

Prior to his appointment as the COO of ZEE-Turner Limited, Jain was the senior vice-president, distribution and was responsible for conceiving and developing new businesses and increase revenues and penetration of the channels. He had joined ZEE-Turner in 2002.

Jain has also served the Indian Army during the early days of his career. Before quitting the Army in 1995, Jain received a couple of awards such as the "Sword of Honour" and Gold Medal from the Officers Training Academy (OTA).

Jain has over nine years of experience in the distribution business of the cable and satellite industry. He also had stints with STAR TV as a regional manager, before he moved to Turner International India Pvt. Ltd. in 1998, where he was responsible for setting up the entire distribution network for South Asia. He was also instrumental in encrypting Cartoon Network and CNN, and launching HBO in South Asia.
