Rajat Sethi is Agency Head of the Year at Media Magazine Agency Awards

The agency that won the title of Office of the Year award was TBWA, Singapore

The Indian advertising community is routinely heard saying that India will take over the world. It is events such as these that reaffirm our faith.

Rajat Sethi, CEO, Wunderman India, who was one of the three finalists for the National Agency Head of the Year at Hong Kong's Media Magazine 2004 Agency of the Year Awards, has taken the crown.

In the fray, for the coveted award besides Sethi, were Neil Hardwick, CEO, Publicis China and Woo-Duk Park, CEO, Publicis Welcomm Korea.

Indeed, Wunderman India is excited about the development. "As per the judges, Rajat's selection as Media's National Agency Head of the Year represents deserved recognition for transforming Wunderman into one of the country's leading agencies in it's discipline by implementing a culture of success and achievement,” say executives at Wunderman India.

On his part, Sethi believes this award is an apt culmination to the year. "This year has seen Wunderman India soaring to new heights. Wunderman India, in addition, to bagging great accounts such as Jet Airways, Castrol, EMC and Space TV, has done well on the creative front as well. We won a Gold at the Indian Marketing Awards for Oracle work and a finalist position at the International Echo Awards for our work on Airtel.”

He adds, "Also, this award is a tribute to all Indians who are making a mark globally in the advertising and marketing business.”

Ogilvy & Mather India too made its presence felt at the awards. It was one of the three finalists for Asia's Office of the Year Award, was declared the first runner up, considered very prestigious in Asia.

The agency that won the title of Office of the Year award was TBWA, Singapore. Reacting to this win, Piyush Pandey, group president & national creative director, O&M India, said, "This award is particularly significant as the qualifying parameters go across 360 communication, thus making this an incredible 360 win for O&M India. The parameters include new business wins, network's contribution to industry's advancement, industry recognition and staff training initiatives."

The prestigious Media Awards are well recognised by the advertising industry across Asia. The three most contested awards are Agency Network of the Year, Media Agency of the Year and Agency Office of the Year. O&M Asia/Pacific won the Network Award in 2003.
