STAR Gold is media partner for Black

STAR Network's Hindi movie channel, STAR Gold, has struck an exclusive deal with the soon-to-be released movie 'Black'. In fact, the channel is the official media partner for the movie.

As per the deal, STAR Gold will air a special show, 'Gold Preview'. The show will be on air today at 8 pm – a day before the theatrical release of the movie. It will have exclusive footage from the movie, which has not been a part of the usual movie promos.

The show will also have exclusive interviews with the film’s director Sanjay Leela Bhanshali and the starcast, which include Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee.

Bachchan talks about how this has been one of the most challenging roles in his career of 35 years and how important touch is in communicating to each other. Rani, on the other hand, discusses all the hard work and the in-depth study she had to undergo in the preparation of her role of a deaf, dumb and blind girl.

The tie-up, in fact, has not been restricted only to STAR Gold. It even extends to the general entertainment channel STAR Plus. On STAR Plus, a programme 'Colours of Black' was aired on January 29. This 30-minute show had Bhavna Somaya, editor of Screen, interviewing Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukherjee and Sanjay Leela Bhansali together on the making of the movie.

In the other part of the deal, the STAR Gold logo will be present in subsequent collateral and print promotion material of the movie.

Ajay Vidyasagar, senior vice-president – marketing and communication, STAR India, says, “The tie-up with Black is significant because it is one of the most awaited movies of the year. We entered into this deal since we have always tried to give something more to our viewers apart from movies on STAR Gold.”

Apart from this, STAR Gold airs 2-3 minute interstitials on the making of the movie – Black throughout the day. Besides, the movie’s promos will be aired on the entire STAR Network
