Contract's Anil Kumar joins Lowe as vice-president

With his resignation, Kumar puts an end to his four year stint at Contract Advertising

Anil Kumar, who was an associate vice-president with Contract Advertising, Delhi, has joined Lowe, Delhi, as vice-president. Kumar is not replacing anyone at Lowe; he is occupying a position especially created for better management of accounts.

Kumar's mandate, as Mohit Beotra, executive vice-president - Lowe explains, is to manage business, nurture talent and grow business. “During these past 12 months, Lowe has only focused on consolidation of business. Now, besides consolidation, the focus is on growing the business,” says Beotra,

In that respect, Kumar's brief is to look after the existing business and acquire more businesses. Kumar, on his part, is looking forward to his new responsibility.

Incidentally, Kumar is the second professional to have moved from Contract to Lowe as vice-president. The first was Virat Tandon, who had joined Lowe a year ago.

At Contract, during his four year stint, Kumar worked on the prestigious account NIIT, which is currently under review. Besides NIIT, he was handling ABN AMRO, which is now with Publicis, Cream Bell and Hero Motors.

Prior to Contract, Kumar was heading the marketing department of Pitara website, which is among the many victims claimed by the dotcom bust.

Pitara, being a dotcom, is the only odd name to appear in Kumar's resume. Before Pitara, Kumar has had stints with advertising agencies such as Grey, TBWA India and FCB Ulka.
