The size of the business excluding the spends on their own newspaper is estimated at Rs 5 crore

Madison Creative's Mumbai branch, the advertising arm of Madison Communications, has won the creative duties of Deccan Chronicle. The size of the business is estimated at Rs 5 crore. This amount does not include the client's spends in its own product.

Commenting on this new business, Prabha Prabhu, executive director, Madison Communications, says, “A newspaper is an exciting brand to handle in today’s competitive market scenario, where each newspaper is looking at ways and means of growing their business. A newspaper brand also gives us good opportunity to showcase our strategic and creative capabilities.”

Deccan Chronicle, a leading English daily of Andhra Pradesh, plans to enter new geographical areas in the near future apart from increasing the circulation and readership in the existing market.

Explaining the reason behind selecting Madison Creative, T Venkattram Reddy, chairman, Deccan Chronicle Holdings Ltd, says, “We were looking for an agency that could provide us with sound strategic advice to exploit the strength of the newspaper and work on creatives that our prospective readers can relate to.”
