Rediffusion's Surojit Sen wins ECO-India award

The award is for best film on tackling vehicular pollution

ECO-India, an organisation working towards creating awareness of environmental and ecological responsibilities, has announced the winners of its Contest 2005, which invited individuals and advertising agencies from across India to send in their communication

solutions on tackling vehicular pollution.

Surojit Sen from Rediffusion DYR, Delhi, has won the first place in the contest where people were asked to create commercials of 25 seconds or less on persuading g people to stop vehicular pollution.

Surojit's winning entry from a total of 64 entrants will now be aired on television channels across India and will also earn a free entry to the Cannes Film Festival and other related international film festivals.

Speaking about his award winning creation, Surojit says, "I'm delighted on this wonderful achievement not only as a Rediffusion team member, but as an Indian citizen as well. The constant irritation of traffic pollution due to an unimaginable influx of automobiles is so evident across India."

Adds Santosh Sood, COO-North, Rediffusion DYR, "The award is testimony to the spirit of entrepreneurship we encourage at Rediffusion. Surojit's initiative in creating the film and entering it for the awards is a living example of Carpe Diem. Surojit seized the day and has emerged victorious."
