MAA Bozell, it seems, has been busy over the & #BANNER1 & # last few weeks, quietly sewing up deals. In quick succession, the agency has scooped up made-in-India restaurant chain Pizza Corner, international eye-care company Alcon, and Apollo Hospitals.
Anirban Chaudhuri, senior vice-president, MAA Bozell, has confirmed the winnings. While he declined to specify the cumulative billings, industry sources said the total billings would be around Rs 6 crore.
In terms of specific accounts, the Pizza Corner business came to MAA Bozell after a multi-agency pitch, which started about three months back. Before MAA Bozell was declared the winner, according to industry sources, the other two agencies in the short-list were incumbent Grey Worldwide and Euro RSCG.
The agency will be undertaking both creative and media duties for Pizza Corner. "Our work for Pizza Corner will involve TVC, print and below-the-line," Chaudhuri said.
Industry sources said the restaurant chain has chalked up some ambitious expansion plans and is planning to open its centres in China, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Little wonder, the agency is excited about partnering this overseas expansion plan.
With Pizza Corner, MAA Bozell has also won Coffee World account, which is a sister concern of the pizza chain. Grey had serviced the account for a brief while.
US-based Nestle-subsidiary Alcon is the second slice of business to come the agency's way. The global eye-care company is setting up shop in India and has hired MAA Bozell for support in creatives and Direct Marketing. The company is apparently one of the biggest spenders in eye-care Research and Development in the world.
The Apollo Hospitals story is a bit different. MAA Bozell has been handling the Apollo Clinic business for a while and consolidated its position further with the client. The agency has now won the business of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise and will be lending creative, media and DM support to the hospital chain.
