General Motors calls for media pitch

Enterprise Nexus continues to handle the creative part of the business

Auto major General Motors has put its media business under review. Quite a few Delhi-based media agencies are in the fray.

However, their names could not be ascertained. The incumbent media partner is Universal McCann and it is defending the business.

As for the creative part of the business, it continues to be with Enterprise Nexus.

Chintamani Rao, president, Universal McCann, says, “General Motors has a three year contract with Universal McCann, which is close to expiry now. That's the reason why the client has called for a fresh pitch.”

Understandably, the media agencies are working doubly hard for the pitch since General Motors is a prestigious and substantial piece of business.

This news comes close on the heels of Rajeev Chaba being promoted as the president and managing director of General Motors India. Chaba has been serving as the chief operating officer of the automobile major. His appointment comes into effect from June 1.

Chaba takes over from Aditya Vij, who has been promoted and posted in General Motors' Europe Unit.

According to the company statement, Vij, who will be based in Stockholm, will have the overall responsibility of managing General Motors' business in the Scandinavian markets including the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland.

Vij, who directed the successful launch of Chevrolet in the country, began his career at General Motors 14 years ago, and was appointed president and managing director of General Motors India in August 2000. © 2005 agencyfaqs!
