McCann, 1pointsize scoop up nominations at FAB Awards, London

The nominations were for the TVC, poster and press ads

McCann-Erickcon and Chennai-based creative shop 1pointsize have snagged five finalist nominations among themselves at this year’s international Food And Beverage (FAB) awards for creative excellence.

McCann-Erickson got two nominations in the poster category – Burst Bubble Billbord for Big Babol and Diet Coke Label for Coca-Cola, and another one for Happydent : Photographer in the TV/Cinema Commersials category.

1pointsize, on its part, has won two finalist nominations. The nominations were for the poster and press ad titled ‘Pasta Hotline’ created for the client Eatalica, a fast food restaurant in Chennai.

Sharad Haksar, CEO of 1pointsize, says, “This is the first time we had entered the FAB awards. With quality entries from 60-odd countries, our chances seemed slim. So, I am indeed glad that our work for Eatalica has been recognized. It was a simple idea for the dial-a-pasta service. Hope it wins.”

With these two nominations, 1pointsize has an impressive haul of 40 metals and 7 international nominations in its three years of existence.

The FAB Awards, which is into its seventh year, will be given away on May 24 at The Hurlingham Club in London. The awards show will celebrate the very best of food and beverage advertising work from around the world.

India had performed well in the 2004 FAB Awards with McCann-Erickson, Mumbai, winning the FAB award for Coca-Cola and the Sweetex poster. Lensman Atul Kasbekar had bagged the photography award. © 2005 agencyfaqs!
