Publicis' Ashish Chakravarty joins Contract Delhi as VP, Creative

He will be the creative head of Contract, Delhi

Ashish Chakravarty, creative head of Publicis Delhi, has put in his papers and is on his way to Contract. Chakravarty, who is joining as vice-president - creative, will be the creative head of Contract, Delhi and is likely to assume office in the third week of June.

Talking about his decision to move to Contract, Chakravarty says, "Ravi Deshpande is the reason I am joining Contract. Though I never got a chance to work with Ravi, I always wanted to. While I was at Euro RSCG, he used to head Lemon. So, when the offer was made, I was more than keen to consider the proposal."

Chakravarty's career move comes after a year's stint at Publicis. Chakravarty was working with Euro RSCG when the offer to join Publicis came his way. And, the reason he took up that offer was because of his art partner Sujit Das, who had moved to Publicis from Euro RSCG as well. Of course, along with working with Das were opportunities of doing good work.

Now, the obvious question that comes to mind is whether Das would also follow suit. No information was forthcoming on the matter.

Chakravarty started his advertising career at JWT (then HTA) in 1993. A while later, he headed for TBWA India (then Anthem), where he teamed up with Das.

Within nine months, both Chakravarty and Das left TBWA for McCann-Erickson. After McCann, Chakravarty and Das were on their way to Euro RSCG. © 2005 agencyfaqs!
