Aurobindo Mohanty joins Rasna as VP Marketing

The former Mudra Chennai head will be responsible for the beverage brand's domestic marketing efforts

Aurobindo Mohanty, former branch head of Mudra Chennai, has joined Pioma Industries – the company behind well-known beverage brand Rasna – as vice-president, marketing. He joined the company last week.

The former Mudra Chennai head will be responsible for the brand's domestic marketing efforts.

Mahanty has had a 20 year-stint in the advertising industry; the bulk of which – 12 years – he spent with Mudra. At Mudra Ahmedabad, he had serviced the Rasna brand for a decade. Later, at Mudra Chennai, he was responsible for brands including Hercules Cycles, Sify, Henkel, and Fa.

In between Mudra and Pioma Industries, Mahanty had taken a two-year break.

Mahanty, who hails from Bhubaneshwar, holds a post-graduate degree in economics. Earlier in his career, he was also associated with HTA (now JWT) and Clarion (Bates) in Kolkata. Some of the brands he had worked on then include ICI and ITC brands – Wills and Gold Flake.

“I have joined Rasna at a very exciting time. There are many plans for the brand's development. While I can't divulge details at this point of time, let me assure you, there are some fantastic plans for the brand,” says a happy Mahanty. © 2005 agencyfaqs!
