Mehernosh Shapoorji quits Cheil Communications

The creative ace wants to be an entrepreneur

Mehernosh Shapoorji, creative head, Cheil Communications has put in his papers. Shapoorji has been with Cheil for the last two years since the time the agency was set up in July 2003.

Shapoorji told agencyfaqs! that he is exploring many “creative” options and will be an entrepreneur. “Many ideas are floating around at this point of time. Acquaintances are calling up with proposals...but nothing has been finalised,” he said.

The creative director has spent some 16 years in the advertising business. He made his debut with Mumbai-based Spear Advertising (which was taken over by O&M subsequently). Later, he joined HTA (now JWT) and then Trikaya Grey (now Grey Worldwide India)". He spent five years between these two agencies.

His next stop was at FCB-Ulka, where he headed the creative operations of the Delhi branch. “Here, I worked with diverse brands such as Whirlpool, Tropicana, Frito Lays, John Players and many others.”

At Cheil Communications, Shapoorji was responsible for the blockbuster Samsung and Hyundai accounts.

“I have had a satisfying innings with Cheil. But now, I've decided to move on,” Shapoorji concluded, promising to keep agencyfaqs! posted.
